There are plans afoot here at Japonica Enterprises and Japonica Photographic.
First up is a new option within our product offerings for customers in the form of Dye Sublimation printing.
Customers can provide a graphic image or choose from one taken in a Japonica Photographic photoshoot and have it printed on:

- tee or polo shirts

- iphone / ipod covers
- laptop covers

After a couple of months of silence, you get 2 blog updates in the space of a couple of hours. On October 7th 2013, Manning released their 14th album - The Root, The Leaf And The Bone which has been well received judging from the positive reviews it has been given.
I had the pleasure of being involved in this project (in a small way) with the photographs in the CD booklet which came from a photoshoot the band and I did back in November last year.

At the end of September I attended the concert by Credo at the CRS in Maltby as their guest. It was a great day with a group of friendly and talented musicians from the band as well as their guests for the evening Andy Tillison (of The Tangent and PO90) and a young band called Luna Kiss.
I am certainly looking forward to further chances to shoot all three acts again in the future.

On Saturday the 13th July I had the pleasure to shoot the formal reopening of the White Horse public house in Baston. The pub had been closed since October 2012 and was completely renovated before reopening. One of the pictures taken as part of the shoot has also been used by a local magazine for their front cover as they were including an article on the pub.
So it turned out to be a great day combining three of my favourites things - taking photographs, eating and drinking - so I have to say that i really enjoy my job at times like this.

On Monday 29th April I had the pleasure of doing a promo shoot for a new version of Romeo And Juliet at the Leicester Square Theatre in London's West End. The updated version is from a new and exciting production company - Geboo Productions who look like have a great future ahead of them.
I had a great day working with a friendly cast and crew and have uploaded a small selection of photos from the day into the Promo Shoots section of the website.
]]>However, things haven't been standing still for Japonica Photography and on Monday I will be doing a promotional shoot in the West End of London for a new production of Romeo & Juliet at the Leicester Square Theatre. This will be a shoot that will be both serious and fun at the same time so look out for more updates next week along with (hopefully) some photographs.
]]>However, last Monday was a music photography course with Steve Gerrard and a shoot of the band The Understudies (their Facebook page is https://www.facebook.com/pages/The-Understudies/104864633435?ref=stream). Some of the photographs from the shoot are in the Promo Shots gallery. If you get a chance to go on a Steve Gerrard workshop - go for it - Steve is a great photographer and I certainly came away with a head buzzing with new ideas, techniques and methods.
]]>This weekend sees the start of the Focus On Imaging show at the NEC in Birmingham. I haven't been for a couple of years and am certainly looking forward to this one - a chance to meet old friends and new and no doubt severely test my budget strings as I pass all those stands with tempting photographic goodies on them.
